Chapter 7
The White Lion
Anastas took a small granite looking rock from Hare's saddlebag and clutched it in her hands, soon whispering an incantation. The rock showed itself to be a crystal, and brightly pulsated to her pleasure. Anastas giggled softly and said it once more, the crystal now vibrating with a strength that shook her hands virulently.
“Careful, Anastas. One more time and you'll lose those cute fingers.” Ekhie whispered with a bright smile, patting the girl on her back. Melisende sighed and bit her lips to the immediate pouting of Anastas.
“What kind of magic are you teaching her now, Ehkie?”
“The one you love so much, Melisende. The one that makes things vibrate.” The green gal snarkily replied while licking her lips like a gently prodding paw.
Melisende shook her head and continued on in silence, Anastas looked on in confusion as to what she meant, but quickly went back to gazing at the glowing crystal in fascination.
Melisende grasped something dark and pasty, rubbing it against her lips while whipping her hair like a swivel. Ehkie blushed and took out a soft fabric and began to run it up and down the rangers cheek to which Melisende pulled back from in a snarl, but eventually accepted her soothing palms. Anastas began to rub Melisende's back in confusion with her lips puckered, noticing Melisende's annoyed face and Ehkie's rosy cheeks she tilted her head like a confused dog, mumbling in childish gossips. Ehkie tossed the soft fabric at the girls face and began to run her hands through Melisende's silky black hair, carefully guiding her fingers in-between each strand of her effortlessly luxurious hair.
“You'll look more pretty if you let me adjust your clothing.” Ehkie lowered her hand into the saddlebag for a second time and pulled out necklace of beads that cuffed the neck and drooped down between the chest, a loose pink shawl and a revealing blouse that would most definitely show an ample amount of cleavage. Ehkie mischievously pulled down Melisende's leather tunic, though the armor hadn't budged, the ranger had quickly gotten the message. “Oh, and I even have a cute bracelet for you, Melisende!”
“Meli... Why does Ehkie want you to dress all... pretty?” Anastas said the word pretty with a delayed and uncertain tone, the word almost foreign to her short life, but she knew it applied here. “Are you going to get... married... or go on a... date? In the.. magic... town..place we're going to?” Anastas hadn't quit patting her back, her small nubile hands massaging the rangers back.
“The city of tombs!” Ehkie blurted with an unmounted excitement. “Melisende is going to marry Mother Rousse's son! And then were going to be family!”. Ehkie giggled while rubbing Melisende's forearm. The ranger shifted uncomfortably as Hare began to trot over a bed of rocks that had tumbled over the pathway.
“Am I going to get married too, Meli? I want to look.... beautiful, like you!” Anastas squealed in excitement, Ehkie couldn't help but blurt in laughter.. “You have the
